(Natural Tai Chi)
Tai Chi is often described as
"meditation in motion" and also referred to as "medication in
motion." There is increasing evidence showing that this mind-body practice
originating from China holds considerable value in treating or preventing
numerous health issues. In this low-impact, slow-motion exercise, you can
perform a sequence of movements without the need for pause. Over a billion
people worldwide practice Tai Chi, and its health benefits are undeniable.
However, due to its many fixed postures requiring considerable time to study
and grasp, many individuals often give up halfway due to time constraints or
lack of persistence.
Natural Tai Chi, however, involves
naturally performing these slow movements in a relaxed state. It is a very
gentle form of exercise that helps in maintaining stamina, physical
flexibility, as well as balancing the immune and endocrine systems. It could be
considered a perfect lifelong activity for the elderly. Even if your physical
condition is poor or if you've been seriously ill, you can start from scratch.
As you relax, you will naturally take deep breaths, expanding your lung
capacity. It's akin to a kind of qigong meditation, concentrating your
attention entirely on stretching your body.
It is unlike any other form of exercise.
The movements are circular, slow, and gentle, and never force oneself into
high-difficulty movements. However, due to the completely relaxed state,
practitioners can also perform high-difficulty movements that are not usually
possible. Muscles are relaxed rather than tense during the exercise, joints
naturally extend or bend, and connective tissues stretch freely. It is suitable
for anyone, from the healthiest individuals to those using wheelchairs, people
recovering from surgery, those experiencing muscle atrophy, and even patients
at the end stages of cancer.
