(https://extension.psu.edu/programs/betterkidcare/news/2017/spinning
Remember, if children
incessantly spin in circles, it is because their bodies crave that stimulation.
If they roll and tumble and stand on their heads, it is because they need that
sensory fix. If they rock or rhythmically sway, it helps their bodies to organize
and function. Create spaces where they can do these activities anytime the
children need to.(記得,

(The vestibular, proprioceptive, auditory, and visual senses work in concert.
Natural Movement Actions: Spinning and Rolling
People practicing Natural Zen, especially those newly exploring this practice, often initiate spinning while in a relaxed state, gradually accelerating in speed until eventually falling to the ground. Of course, assistance from senior practitioners is required at this point to ensure the safety of the individual. There are various spinning methods: some spin while standing and then fall, continuing to roll upon hitting the ground, while others rotate directly on the ground while lying down. This spinning force can sometimes help an individual roll up a very steep hill, appearing extraordinary but simply the result of internal force. Those knowledgeable about human behavior do not find this odd or attribute it to spiritual possession. In fact, it's an inherent power that helps to restore the sense of balance.
Behavioral studies reveal that children use rolling, spinning, and swaying to aid in maturing their nervous systems and strengthening their sense of balance, a sensory-motor skill termed "dizzying input." This article from Penn State Extension talks about this sensory input.
Spinning, rolling, and swinging are actions adults involuntarily engage in when relaxed and joyful. Unfortunately, many adults have lost this instinct due to the busyness of life. We often see in fairy tales or movies a happy little princess spinning uncontrollably, a time when she is joyful and often humming a happy song, not leading to dizziness or vomiting. Numerous European dances involve continuous spinning, leaving the dancers feeling relaxed and content.
Most children enjoy swinging on swings and being lifted to spin and sway. Therefore, behavioral experts have developed a therapy known as "therapy swings." Spinning is also commonly used in sensory integrative treatments to address sensory integration issues related to hearing and vision. So, when children constantly spin, it's often due to their personal sensory needs. The text from Penn State Extension highlights the necessity of allowing children to engage in these activities.
Adults often find themselves spinning when on large grassy areas, especially sprawling grasslands or beaches, as these places naturally encourage spinning.
According to human behavioral scientists Kawar, Frick, and Frack (2005), during spinning, the vestibular, proprioceptive, auditory, and visual senses work in unison, enhancing an individual's sense of balance and surefootedness. This centrifugal force stimulation can activate the inner ear's vestibular system and the cochlear lymph in the ear. These spinning movements are essential for neural development and can help in brain direction and attention.
Additionally, experts have studied that while spinning, lymphatic fluid moves, influencing the energy within the ear hairs and potentially leading to improved hearing and reduced dizziness in adults who practice Natural Zen. Often, after multiple spinning sessions, practitioners have noticed the disappearance of tinnitus, an improved sense of hearing, and reduced dizziness, possibly due to energy stimulation of the ear hairs and lymph fluid movement.
