美國自然療法專家莱士·沃特斯(Wallace Wattles) 在他的《健康科學》(The Science of Being Well.) It is the thought that counts)。

Training Time and Location

Natural Zen is about practicing meditation at any time and place, meaning it can be done anytime and anywhere. Wallace Wattles, an American naturopath, in his book "The Science of Being Well," mentioned that if you genuinely wish to relax and hold that thought, you can relax. "It is the thought that counts," signifying that just wanting to relax allows you to relax. This same principle applies to Natural Zen. Additionally, in "312 Meridian Health Method," Dr. Zhu Zong Xiang, a renowned acupuncturist and physiologist, suggested that you can open and clear meridians at any place with your hands and feet. The stimulation of these systems can help self-heal diseases.

The term "at any time" means there are no time restrictions; in other words, you can practice for 24 hours a day. Similarly, "any place" refers to the absence of location constraints. Practicing in the early morning is good, but can you practice after eating? Yes, you can, as long as the food in your stomach has partially digested. Intense exercise should be avoided right after eating to prevent discomfort. Late-night exercises are possible, although ideally, one might feel sleepy at night and wouldn't have the inclination to practice. However, for individuals who can't sleep and feel the urge to practice at midnight, they can do so until feeling tired and ready for sleep. Nevertheless, individuals who need to work the next day should be cautious about late-night practice.

Regarding the practice locations, open grasslands are suitable for free-flowing movements, beaches allow bigger movements without worrying about falls, water provides buoyancy, and enclosed spaces like an office allow controlled movements to avoid accidental damages. Some practitioners in poor health or confined to limited space can practice Natural Zen sitting on a chair or even on a bed. These seated exercises can accelerate recovery. Consequently, the practice of Natural Zen is not limited by time or place.

However, research from Natural Zen practitioners indicates that the best practice results come from exercising in forests, especially deep in the mountains or among large trees like those found in the Da Xue Mountain. The increased presence of plant phytoncides, negative ions in mist, and trace elements in various rocks help in relaxation. The solitude allows freedom for cathartic expression, making forest practice highly effective.

Teacher Huang often says that Qi Lan Mountain, particularly the Shei-An on Qi Lan Mountain, is the primary birthplace of Natural Zen. The area offers significant energy for practice. However, as these remote locations are impractical for frequent visits, Teacher Huang, after much searching, found a suitable practice site called Shei-An. The purpose is not to establish lavish temples but to provide a safe and convenient place for Natural Zen practitioners. Therefore, the Natural Zen Association discovered this pure practice land in the form of Shei-An after everyone's earnest efforts.

In essence, practice in Natural Zen doesn't require any specific time or location. It can be adapted to suit different settings and should be performed in an environment conducive to relaxation and freedom of movement.
